George Stonbely has been involved in the civic, business and philanthropic life of Times Square since 1968, and until recently, the founder of Spectacolor Communications, the leading “spectacular” sign marketing and design company in Times Square and in over 30 cities around the world.
Mr. Stonbely has been actively involved in successful civic and legislative efforts at maintaining Times Square’s historic “Bright Lights”. In 1988, he brought Madame Tussaud’s to New York from London and helped to establish them on 42nd Street. He is an active member of several charitable organizations including Encore Senior Center and the Partnership for a Drug Free America as well as being a Director of The Times Square Alliance. Mr Stonbely was born and raised in New York City and lives in Carnegie Hill with his wife Christine. Their three sons are pursuing careers in Law, Food and Beverage and Business.
